Pilot bore — a guided bore head drills a precise underground path from the entry pit to the exit pit, tracked the entire way to stay on course.
Ream & pull-back — the path is widened to the right diameter, then the new pipe — copper or 1-inch black poly water service pipe (200 PSI) for water lines, HDPE for sewer — is pulled back through the bore in a single pass.
Connection — the new line is connected to your house and the city main or curb stop, pressure-tested, and brought up to Virginia code.
Surface restoration — the two small entry and exit pits are backfilled and compacted, leaving the rest of your yard, driveway, and landscaping untouched.
